About My Blog

My photo
As a mother of three beautiful children ages 9,7 & 2, I'm a busy mom, but painting is my time to retreat, refresh and rejuvenate! I plan to make this blog a journal of ideas for paintings, an update on how a painting is coming along and finally, the finished product. Most of the paintings are for sale, so if you see one you can't live without, let me know! Also, please feel free to leave comments, ideas or a friendly howdy! Take a look at my website: http://www.tinapowersfineart.com

Ecor Rouge

A plein aire painting done in a workshop led by my artist friend Erin Fitzhugh Gregory http://www.efgart.com/ . We followed her to this beautiful home on Ecor Rouge (I think it means Red Hill) which is the highest point on the Eastern Shore. We combed the lush landscape for the perfect painting composition and I chose the view of the 120 steps leading down to Mobile Bay. I didn't think I would enjoy painting in the Alabama sun for 6 hours, but I really loved it!

Hi, Miss Tina! Congrats on the new blog. Love this landscape...It's almost abstract. Beautiful colors. And I love that you go out into the world to find your subjects. Your paintings are just lovely. I look forward to more! Cheers from Mississippi, Amy
